The Orvis Rod Swap lasts throughout the month of July, and highlights our partnership with Fishing for Forces and Countryside Alliance's Fishing For Schools project. Every rod donated will end up in the hands of either a veteran affected by conflict or a disabled child who is just learning how to fish. Rods can be donated at your nearest Orvis Retail Store or by mail to Fishing for Forces or Countryside Alliance, and discounts can be applied in the store or online. Discounts applied online will be available immediately, as we trust you to donate an old rod after the transaction. Discount applies to the purchase of fly rods only - discounts on reels or entire fly rod outfits not included.

Fishing for Forces is a non-profit organisation which holds the view that anyone who has been affected by operational duties could benefit from the healing effect of spending a day by the water. Veterans from any conflict throughout the years (the Falklands, Iraq, Afghanistan, or even World War II) are presented with rods, even if they've never fished before, and it's a modest way you can show your appreciation for what those in the services have sacrificed. Countryside Alliance's Fishing for Schools project aims to use fishing as a way to educate and enthuse youngsters with both learning and behavioral disabilities. The program also hopes to involve, and inspire, students of all abilities to learn and find routes back into mainstream educatino through their enjoyment of fishing.
