The Beginners Corner

Fly fishing seems like an intimidating pastime at first. It doesn't have to be. With a few basic skills, you will enjoy many fun and productive hours on the water. Choosing fly tackle can also be confusing and overwhelming. It's not because we want it to be, it's because fly fishers today want choices. They want different price points depending on their budget, but also because today's fly fisher could be chasing anything from a tiny sunfish to a giant sailfish, and be fishing anywhere from a tiny mountain stream in July to a raging steelhead river in December.

To help you develop your skills, and to help you sort through the many choices we have, we've developed the beginner's corner. We'll be adding more topics all the time, so stop back often. And if you have any suggestions for what would be helpful here, please visit our live chat area.
