Salmon River -
By: JackLN from Avon CT
I bought this combo for salmon fishing in the Lake Ontario tributaries. It's not really like fly fishing, you muscle roll cast with an eighth ounce of weight at about 2 O'clock upstream, drift downstream to about 10 O'clock then retrieve and start again. (The fishing pressure is such that you don't always have enough room to do anything else.) With this type of fishing, the ten foot rod was a definite plus. I only landed a couple of fish, but the 8 weight was plenty of rod for a 25 pounder and the # V reel had drag to spare. I'm very pleased with the cosmetics, performance and durability. JackLN
Fantastic Rod!! -

I was not happy with my current steelhead rod, so I purchased this as a replacement. WOW! I was really impressed. Distance was far better than any rod I have used and control of the cast was exceptional. Mending was a breeze. Great feel through the rod. And very light for its size. Recommend? You bet! As a matter of fact, I like it so well that I just ordered an Access 9ft 6wt a couple of hours ago!
Best Purchase Ever -
Its nothing to say, best single handed in the world for so low price.Really fantastic.
Great rod for the price -
fantastic rod...very light. This is my first salt water rod and my first tip flex. I have been using it on the Muskegon for salmon and steel head...feel like my helios in regards to weight and really punches line with big flies on the end. Feels like i'm throwing them acroos the state.

This is one of four of these great value rods I have and does everything it says brilliantly. An excellent tool; only used for reservoir trout so far but expect it to be good for sea trout and salmon too. Usual minor comments, wheres the hook keep as standard and can I have a matt one please?
