Rated 4 out of 5 by from A few issues, but a solid boot. I have waited to post a review, but as I am on my 3rd pair now I thought it was time. I have used these boots for the past 4 seasons, and I get about a season and a half out of them. However, we fish up country rivers and average 10-18km per day which puts a lot of stress on any boot. I wear a full size larger than my regular shoes as I wear thick wool socks to provide extra comfort on long walks, and the extra room allows for the shrinkage when wet. I have had a few blisters on each pair, but I prep my feet while breaking them in and things are sweet. The gravel guard works for larger pebbles, but sand will get into the boots. The issues I have are the plastic eyelets and each pair have always had a few break. The larger issue is the separation at the leading edge of the toe, but again, we walk river rocks all day so maybe it's asking a lot to hold up to that abuse. The soles are good, but do seem to wear out fast and become slippery (the reason for retirement). Even with these issues, I have found them to offer the best value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wading Boot for Coral Flats We just got back from a permit trip to Placencia Belize. All coral flats. Two of us had these boots and loved them. Perfect for coral. The guide wanted his own pair, but ours were too small for him. They are a bit bulky to pack, but very light weight and dry quickly. I wear a 10 or 10.5 E-width shoe and found other makes too narrow. These are wide and roomy. I got size 11 and have plenty of room for liner socks and either the Orvis neoprene socks or medium weight synthetic socks. Wearing the regular socks was cooler and a little more comfortable, and when folded over the top of the boot completely prevented any sand from getting in. I suspect the size 10 would have worked with only a liner sock, but would not have been this comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coral Flats Dominator I purchased the Andros Flats Hikers with the NRS Hydro Skin Wet Socks while vacationing in Hawaii. I have never fished on coral flats before and I didn’t know what to expect; however, on my first fishing day, the coral tore up my feet and lower legs. That afternoon, I got on-line, and purchased the boots and socks through Orvis and had them shipped overnight express. I was not disappointed…Orvis came through with the delivery and the boots performed better than expected. I typically wear size 11 to 11.5, so I ordered size 12. The boots were comfortable right out of the box and performed perfectly. They were most comfortable with the socks. These boots saved my fishing experience. They are very well made and should last for years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features, BUT ..... Fantastic Customer Servi Bought boots, flew from Oregon to Florida, first time lacing up the boots one of the lacing eyelets broke, not good, but could be worse, wore the boots for a couple of outings anyhow. Very comfortable and sturdy, good fit. After return home I was going to try super-glue for a repair, (plastic eyelet logical for salt water use) but at the last minute I decided to contact ORVIS customer service first. After explaining the problem they recommended that I return the boots at no cost to me and they are shipping me a new pair. You cannot beat that kind of customer service. ORVIS really does stand behind their products. A bit of an inconvenience, but things are not always perfect. I am rating this product as a 5 because I am satisfied with the fit and sturdiness of the boots and I am more than satisfied with the customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ugh! The pros...these are some nice looking boots. Especially when you compare them to the Simms Flats Sneaker. The cons...very narrow! I wore these boots on Christmas Island for 3 days before I couldn't take it anymore. I'll lose 3 toe nails because of these shoes. They literally cost me a visit to the ER to have my feet looked at and nails removed. Con number two...construction. There's something about the way they're put together on the inside seams that make them very uncomfortable. If you have a wider foot these boots may be an issue for you. Overall very disappointed with the performance of these boots. Something I'll be reminded of for the next few months as my nails grow back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No blisters! I wore these boots for three days walking around ascension bay near Punta Allen and didn't get any blisters ever though I didn't break them in or wear socks. Very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flats boots Used these boots for 8-10 hours a day for 5 straight days on a mixture of mud, sand and coral flats. They performed well and were comfortable all day long. Spectacular boots that I would recommend to anyone.
