These were purchased for my 16 year old son who is new to fly fishing. These boots were perfect as a first pair to get him in the water!

    Great boots - 11/25/2014

My first step into proper wading. Previously in wellington boots with extended leggings - can't wait to try these out. Initially got the size wrong and the exchange process from Orvis was simple and straight forwards; the new boots took only a couple of days to arrive. Off to BC next month with all new kit. That chum salmon won't get away this time!

    Excellent Product - 11/16/2014

All in all best wading boot I have ever worn. Here's why: 1. Very light, under 17ozs. per boot. Comparatively that's nothing short of remarkable. If you, like I, walk alot try this boot. 2. Comfortable, like really comfortable, yet provides pretty good ankle support. 3. Easy to get on and off and the laces are long enough so you never have to relace through the eyelets. 4. Traction. The felt bottoms are fine by themselves, but if you're typically wading on slippery bottoms, you really owe it to yourself to get metal studs or as I did, add after market studs (I use 3/8" motorcycle ice studs. Bombproof) 5. Fit. I wear a 9 1/2 street shoe. I purchased a pair of sz 10. Perfect fit. For Fall fishing I wear liner sock, chemical toe packs and a warm high end wool sock. Fits like they were custom made for my foot. If I'm lucky I may even get away with using them in the winter as the toebox area is nice and wide. Good luck,

    Wonderful Stability - 11/3/2014

I bought these boots to go with my Silver Sonic waders and they are a match made in heaven. The boots offer good support and great traction in the river. As with the other Orvis products I have purchased, the quality is superb.

Excellent purchase good quality of an item often overlooked by fisherman. Paying attention to wading and your surroundings will increase your enjoyment and ability to catch more fish.

Great at first BUT THEN!!!!! - 10/21/2014
    By: from Va

I got myself a pair of these in about April of 2014. Loved them at first. Low price, comfortable, easy on and off. I knew they were good for maybe two seasons but at the price that's OK. BUT yesterday the felt on the left boot separated from the sole and the sole separated from the boot bottom. The felt is also showing significant wear all over. Going to have to replace them this week and you can bet it won't be an Orvis branded product. And while In on the subject, they could have alsoput a tab at the toe for your gravel guards to hook into. As it is the guard hook has to go over the lower shoe string and it is tending to wear the string out PLUS it comes lose most all the time. After all is said and done, the appeal of the price is gone once the product defects appear. Get yourself a good pair of some other brand!
