These boots are awesome! Really light weight and super comfortable. Best wading boots I have had so far.
Entry level shoe -

Have gone through 2 pair of these shoes and they last exactly one season. Too bad they are not sewn as the felts come off the sole. Otherwise the are lighting quite comfortable.

Not a good boot -
By: MichaelApp from Northamptonshire
First time I used the boots, thought they were light, comfortable and gripped well. BUT, by the end of the first day the eye for the gravel guard hook had fallen off. 9 days of fishing later the drain hole guards have fallen out of both boots leaving the boots full off sand - not good for the neoprene booties. I have also returned the Encounter waders as they leaked within a couple of days. Orvis - where has your quality gone?
Repeated Poor Quality -

2014 and 2015 two pairs with the sole separation problem after 12. resp.15 Fishingtrips. Product is not worth the money and does not reflect your Pride of Ownership nor your Performance. You certainly lost me as customer
Excellent boots at an even better price -
By: MattNZ from Auckland, New Zealand
Took these out for the first time this morning and I am genuinely impressed! Bought the felt sole and hiked up and down river for at least 4 miles. A variety or terrain from boulders to sand proved to be easy task for these boots! My feet were comfortable all day and in terms of traction, I may have well been walking on a carpet floor with cleats on. Thanks for another awesome product Orvis!
Entry Level -
"Entry level" does not always mean junk, but this time it does. Shame on Orvis. I wore these boots 20 to 25 times, and they were fine. I then took them on my first trip to the Beaver Kill, over 11 hours driving. The sole came off the front of my right boot the first morning. I went to town bought duct tape and fixed it. the second day the sole on the left heal came loose. No way to fix that with duct tape. I found someone with an extra pair I could borrow. I lost about a day of a three day trip. Junk.

not durable -
By: GoneFishingToo from PA
This boots were comfortable and when i first started wearing them I thought they were a great bargain. But.... The sole on the right boot separated this morning. Ruined the rest of the day. I've only got 15 maybe 20 fishing days on them. Not worth it. Buy something better. I'm going to see if Orvis will honor a guarantee on them and give me store credit towards a higher end pair.
Great Wading Boots -

Lightweight, sturdy construction, very comfortable. Nice boot for a reasonable price. Would buy again.
Comfortable but not durable -
By: Oldstubby from Blairsville, Ga.
I got about 50 days of fishing out of these boots before the sole separated from the uppers on one of the boots. They were comfortable, but I would definitely not recommend these to anyone who plans on fishing often.
Perfect Boot for the Purpose -

These boots are clearly not the top of the line that Orvis offers, but they are perfect for multiple purposes. First, it is a terrific boot for someone first getting into fly fishing and not sure they want to make the most expensive of every item (personally, I would tend to go more expensive on the rod, since if you stick with fly fishing it will serve you well for years). Personally, I purchased these for the sole purpose of a light weight boot to carry while backpacking. Although I would prefer rubber soles for eco purposes, the felt soles are almost a pound lighter. You just have to recognize that these will not last forever. The soles only have single sticking, as opposed to some of Orvis' other boots.
