I typically love Orvis Products. Can't say I'm too thrilled with this one. Bought the 8'4" 3wt H2 and the first time on the water I set the hook with a quick flick of the wrist and it snapped in the middle of the third section. Used the rod for about 30 seconds and it broke. Good thing I brought my superfine as a backup rod or my trip would have been done quick. Have yet to use the rod since the repair, but hopefully its better. However, the customer service at Orvis is top notch. Called them up and the only thing I had to pay for was shipping to Vermont. They replaced the entire 3rd section and shipped it back to me in about a month. Look forward to catching many wild browns on it this summer.

I got this rod in November and fished it next day on one of my favorite wild creeks. It not only held up with heavy tandem nymph rigs, but delicately threw dry dropper rigs flawlessly. Thanks Orvis!
Best Orvis Rod, Ever -

I recently purchased an Orvis Helios 2, 8'4", 3 weight. I have a friend who had the original Helios and I wanted one for myself. I was pleasantly surprised to find the 2 was even a lighter, more sensitive and more responsive rod. I can really feel the line load on the back cast and can still send out a long delicate cast. I have caught everything from a few brookies to a few 18-20 inch bows. I am getting another Helios 2.

I've been fly fishing for over 30 years. purchaced my 1st Orvis (ClearWater 7-W) which I love 3 years ago. Last year upgraded to Access 5-W Tip-Flex; Fantastic Rod. This year test drove Hilios2-W 8'4" in the back of store. I cast the line 20 yds toward the sales man. hel held the line in his hand and asked me to pull and increase tension. H2 2W Rod broke @ the "O" OrvisLOGO. So I went on and purchaced the H2 3-W took it to the river next day beautiful day cought some nice small mouth bass. Within an Hr in my fishing the rod broke @ the handle during casting and I had to end my trip early. Went back to store and replaced it with Access. Hope the H3 is designed better.
