effortless control and accuracy! -
By: NGAflyfisher from N. GA
I was just able to break in my new 10' 4wt Helios 2 loaded with RIO's WF4F Perception fly line. WOW! I have never been able to consistently land ANY fly (heavy double nymph/indicator, dry dropper, and streamers) exactly where I intend to, until now. This combo made everything effortless. I was able to roll cast and mend much easier and much more accurately. Yesterday, I fished a very small/technical creek where it is common to loose more flies than anyone cares to admit. I left the creek without loosing a single fly. I directly relate this to the incredible control and accuracy this outfit gave me!
A truly magic rod! -

I have been fly fishing for over 20 years and this rod is by far the best I ever used. Works great on overhand, underhand and roll cast. I use it with a RIO Trout LT #4 line witch I think is a perfect match. This summer I have used this rod for over 30 days of trout and arctic char fishing in mountain lakes and streams and I am really amazed with the performance. This rod gives you a feeling of doing magic with no effort at all. Delicate and precise presentations in short range, extremely powerful and accurate at long range. The extra foot in length gives more power and more feeling when fighting fish and also some extra high when deep wading. Just for fun I tried it with a SA MD #5 line, wow it handle the #5 line with ease shooting over 70 feet without effort. Want even more delicate presentation, just use it with a #3 line. This rod handles #3 #4 and #5 lines with ease and covers all thinkable fishing conditions. This rod will give great joy and happiness once you, the rod and the line become one, even without catching any fish. So what about the cons? The only thing I am disappointed with is the fact that this great rod have to rest in a cheap black cloth inside the tube. If you own a gold coin it should rest on a expensive, quality, soft cloth.
Casts like a dream -

I had the pleasure of taking this rod out for the first time on the Deschutes River in Oregon last May. Despite the wind, I was able to cast farther and more accurately than ever, covering large sections of water without having to change position. I chose the long rod because I do a lot of lake fishing, and the extra length is helpful in a pontoon boat. The length also helped me "punch" (more like slice through) into the wind, and let me place even size 8 flies down delicately. My finest moment was placing a fly 45 feet upstream, between two large limbs of a fallen tree, and dropping the fly so gently that a 22" Redside rose up and just slammed it! I own many rods, but my Helios2 (I now own two of them) rods are by far my favorites. You will NOT regret buying one.
Great 4wt Rod -
It works beatifully with a Rio or Airflo 4WF line. Had difficulties with the Orvis3D 4wft line; would not load well in moderate wind. Very sensitive and fought bruisers with aplomb.
