Not everything needs to be fast in order to be effective. From the casting platform on a drift boat, what matters most is accuracy. The small number of anglers that can put flies within an inch of the bank are the ones who are catching the majority of the fish. So when you find yourself dropping a Copper John from a Chernobyl Ant during hopper season on some western river, use a rod that will give you an added advantage and a feeling unlike any other. Use the 6-weight, 9' Helios 2. Your cast will thank you. Proudly made in Manchester, Vermont.
Why would we take the world's best fly rod and change it? The answer is simple. We're driven by constant improvement. Put this rod in your hands and feel the rush. You'll completely understand.

Just Got my 6wt Helios 2! -

I only asked for Orvis gift cards for christmas last year and finally had enough to buy my next rod. I was waiting for the Recon to come out. I was going to buy a recon 5 or 6wt and a clearwater switch rod because I have all the reels I need to outfit them. I went to the local Orvis store in Oakbrook IL. Tim let me hold the Helios 2 and Recon and I was amazed at the weight difference. After a long discussion, I went for the 6wt Helios 2 and I am so satisfied with my decision, I started saving up for my next rod, the helios 2 7wt switch rod. This 6wt rod is like butter. Light, easy to handle and deadly accurate. If I didn't have the money to get a Helios, I would have bought the Recon and Clearwater, but I always tell my kids, spend the money and get the best quality you can get. Honestly I went home telling my family, I have the best rod money can buy. And I truely believe that.

Can't believe I am the first to review such an awesome product but here goes. I began drooling once the opening the package in my backyard. Amazed with how light and easy to use the rod is plus stoked with the tube! The line is supple and smooth wound in the reel ready to go. Only wish the reel were made domestically like the rod...
