BEST Jacket -

This coat is fantastic. I wear it daily...not just in the field. It has plenty of pockets inside and I really like the hand warmer pockets. Made really well! Great looking but very practical too.
Great Coat, Great Quality -

This jacket is very nice. The fabric is exceptionally soft, and the leather accents add a nice touch. Sizing runs smaller relative to the regular "Heritage Field Coat", so take that into account. I tired both on in size Medium, and the Moleskin jacket is definitely smaller in the arms and chest. I have a 40" chest and this fits perfect with room for a flannel shirt underneath. Anything heavier and the sleeves would be too tight (chest would probably still be OK).

Like the style of the coat, like the moleskin, warmer than expected (it's cold here), fit is true to size, lots and lots of pockets inside and out (I consider that a good thing). I'm happy that I purchased this coat.

I was initially concerned by how others had described the coat as "heavy" to wear. I would describe it as medium weight and comfortable to wear for long walks. Surprisingly warm for the weight actually. I have been wearing it in 10 deg weather with only a shirt underneath and have been very happy with it. While the weather here has been extremely cold, it has been dry -- so I don't know how the coat holds up to rain, sleet or mud. Workmanship is very high quality. This coat appears designed for long life. In terms of finish it has some nice leather trim. It gives the impression of a solid work jacket rather than a Country Gentleman's jacket.
Very nice coat -

I'm 5-9 and 200 pounds and ordered a large. The sleeves are just right but the jacket is just a bit on the tight side in the chest area; a reminder that I need to lose some pounds. A very nice, soft jacket. I don't notice the weight some reviewers have commented on. With a light shirt on it is warm down to about freezing. Great pockets and smooth zipper.
Very nice field coat -

A fine garment made with attention to detail. Plenty of roomy pockets. The enclosure has a nice course zipper in addition to buttons. The word "rugged" does NOT come to mind. I'd describe the coat as "comfy". The only negatives for me are, I'd be happy if the coat was a bit more heavy weight, including the "handwarmer" pockets. I'd be at home in this coat down to about 40 degrees without wind. Still, it's a nice shooting/all around coat. I'd describe the fit as full and roomy.
Wishing for Tall Sizes -
Absolutely love the coat but returning because sleeves are too short.

I had to have this coat from the minute I saw it. The coat looks and feels great to wear. It feels a bit heavier than it looks to pick it up, but when wearing it I never noticed the weight at all. This jacket is sized small - especially for Orvis products. I initially ordered a Large, but that was very tight and so I exchanged for an XXL. That fit well and had room for a sweater. Love having all the pockets to use - very handy. Very happy with this purchase.
Nice coat -

I purchased this coat by its classic and robust looks without trying it on since I live in Finland. After a long wait it finally came, to be tested in our arctic conditions (~ 0 C"). The size M fits perfectly (170 cm tall & slim). Due the colour I would prefer using it mostly in town instead of field or forest. Suits fine with khaki pants and dark brown stetson. Also with your cool native american pattern long sleeve shirt (more please?). The only minus is the cellular pocket which is too small for smart phones. The coat is light to wear and warm. Cheers!
