Floats very well but make sure the peg is pushed in tight to prevent it slipping on the leader.. I bought the half inch size but, I suggest that if you are casting really far out or if the water is choppy then you would be better with the three quarter inch size. Better still, carry both sizes in your kitbag.

Last year, and way more this year, I'm spending more time nymphing, usually dual set ups. Tried using thingamabobbers early in the season with good results, but became interested in the jam-stop for its ease in moving up and down as I change spots on the river. These worked great and are all that they're advertised to be.

Works well -

I much prefer this to the original because the jam-stop really holds the float in place.
Jam-stop isn't great -

While they cast relatively well and are easy to see, every third or fourth cast these will slide down the leader to the fly. I even went to the manufacturer's website where I followed their tips, but nothing has solved this problem.
Best Indicator out there -

The Jamstopper indicators are great for quick depth adjustment. They are non-slipping and best of all don't put kinks up and down your leader or tippet. Orvis online is now the only place I can find them. It seems all the fly shops have stopped carrying the Jamstopper.

I can quickly adjust on the leader when fishing a lake.
