Rated 4 out of 5 by from Non-toxic lead substitute I bought this as I did not feel comfortable handling lead as it can lead to health issues longer term. The non-Pb wire is less malleable than the lead wire but overall very acceptable alternative and no real difficulty was encountered. If you want a non-Pb wire then this can be recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean and safe, and effective After tying with traditional lead I find I have a slight dust all over my fingers and tools, a lead dust. That thought always made me feel uneasy. This wire is safer for myself and the environment, and I don't find the weight difference compared to lead to be as noticeable as some people say it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like using this instead of lead as it is better for the environment and better for me when tying. The only down side I see is it seems lighter than lead but I can't be sure of that. Lighter or not all should be switching due to environmental concerns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality wire I wish that the wire could come flattened out to make it easier for forming fly bodies. I found that if you take a large size socket from a socket wrench, you can roll or press down the wire to make it flat. It still works great and really helps out in tapering the bodies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy with the Product The non toxic wire is very malleable and easy to work with. It is a little lighter than the lead wire. However, it still adds sufficient weight to the fly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like that it's non-toxic Since I lose a lot of nymphs, I don't want to leave lead in the river. This is a good alternative. Used with a tungsten bead, it's great option. The real test will be tying a pickle with it (Pat's Rubber Legs).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Alternative I alwatys used real lead wire but decided to give this a try. Lighter than lead wire but I just went up one size to compensate and it works fine. Good alternative to lead and nontoxic to the environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected Standard wire for nymphs that are a bit heavier in the 10-14 size range. Help the eagles and osprey by buying lead-free wrap... We owe it to our kids and grand children!
