Rated 4 out of 5 by from well it had a hole......... in one of the hand warmer pockets, brand new out of the box. I do like the heft, and build. I like the pockets, I can get my hands in them and the two inside pockets are great. Gonna try in the rain and let you know how it does!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite "Go To" Jacket I have owned this jacket for a few years now. It is as roomy and comfortable as a jacket can get. It is my "Go To" jacket when i am going to do something fun... trip to the mountains, camping or, general running around in cooler weather. On a recent mountain trip one of my buddies grabbed my jacket to run outside for a minuet....I had to pry it off his back when he returned! ( and no!, I did NOT wish to sell it to him as he had asked!!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing, sizing, sizing I would give the coat 5 stars, but unlike most Orvis products, I find myself in between sizes on the Heritage Field Coat .. I am 5' 10" tall, weigh 175 #, 43" chest, and have a 35 1/2" shirt sleeve length .. ordered a large in the Heritage and find the 36 1/2" garment length sleeves are plenty long to stretch my arms out in (good0) and the rest of the coat fits fine, except the back across the shoulders does have some minor binding, even with the biswing back .. it may "open up" some as the coat is worn and it stretches some .. hope so .. just called Orvis to inquire about garment dimensions for the extra large, and it is 4" more in the chest and sweep, 1" more across the shoulders, and 1" longer in the arms .. the large, as is, was tried on over an insulated canvas field shirt, so there was some inherent layering done when trying it on .. probably a light sweater over a t-shirt, flannel shirt, or similar would give the same result .. but I could not put a midweight sweater on over the insulated field shirt or a lighter flannel shirt with the Heritage on top and be comfortable, clearly I would need an extra large for that .. but an extra large would be so big that, unless I did layer with both a shirt and sweater, it would be to big over something lighter underneath, such as a flannel shirt by itself. .. pretty frustrating, will probably order in an extra large to compare and see how it works out ..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy but not warm This is a nice looking coat, a heavy weight canvas style material (a bit long) that is actually quite heavy in poundage... ie: when putting it on it feels as if you left tools in the pockets ...and then feels heavy on the shoulders. It's not warm without a good layer underneath. I often find myself choosing another coat for simplicity or warmth. Great for pushing through brush or briars. Again, nice looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value Good all rounder, generously cut so plenty of room for thick jumper in cold days. Smart & very comfy, good pocket access. Front zip a bit tricky to fasten, buttons not quite so practical. Well sown seams so should last a good while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a perfect garment for the outdoor I've bought from Italy, and the custom service was pre-payed and fine, clear - transparent. The jacket is exactly what I needed because I saw wearing by a fisher friend (he bought in USA...). A wonderful garment to wear in any outdoor activity, warm and fitting comfortable, with a lot of pockets. Perfect. thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected, great value The Orvis Heritage Field Coat in dark khaki looked great and was at a reasonable price point. At 5'8 175lbs, the medium fits well with room to layer a sweater. This coat is well-built and has that heft and feel of a quality product that will last. I had anticipated a good quality coat, but frankly it was better than expected.
