    Best Pocket Guides - 4/4/2012

I wish I would have come across those books as a beginner. These are by far the best introductory books about specific fly fishing topics. They contain more tips and tricks and explain the important bits better than many works 3 times more "heavier in pages". Especially I like Tom Rosenbauers "Dry Fly" and "Nymph" booklets a lot. Still reading them at work (small size comes in handy here as well). Highly recommended.

As a newcomer to fly fishing, I found the book "Leaders Knots & Tippets" a fantastic aid. Everything is explained in the most easy to understand way, and I am so glad that I bought the product.

If you fish the rivers of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio or Ontario, you will benefit from the lessons in this book. I refer to it before any steelhead trip.

Perfect Purchase for the novice Steelheader - 2/23/2010

Less than 2 months until steelhead fishing in Minnesota is underway, and this well crafted guide, as well as the advice of many fly fisherman and tackle shop owners, has me pointed in the right direction for my first steelheading adventure. I read it cover to cover in no time and I feel much more educated. Any newcomer to a new type of game fish can tell you that research is paramount to having a memorable and fun experience your first time out. This guide is very detailed with a great deal of information that will help put you in the right position to catch this elusive fish. A must buy for anyone getting into steelhead fishing, and I suspect seasoned veterans will enjoy a few new tips in here as well.

There are all kinds of Steelhead rivers running into the Great Lakes. This book covers them all. Lots of useful instruction, not only for the beginner but also for the float-fisherman looking to try fly-fishing, and for the fly-fisherman who is looking for another point of view. Great pictures too. I gave copies at Christmas to my brother and a buddy who are both Steelhead fanatics.
