    Not what I thought - 12/1/2014

This looked like a great jacket online, but it wasn't what I expected. Light cotton outer layer with a silky orange button in lining. Look like competition for the Orvis Field Coat, but not nearly as durable or as warm. I returned it to the Orvis store near me.

Orvis, please make your jackets and other outerwear in size S as well. This could have been a very nice jacket but at M it's like an XL

The best coat I have ever owned. - 10/18/2014

I had a parka when I was in school and I have searched for another one like it ever since. This is the one, only better. The removable liner makes it usable from fall through spring. Great Buy!

One of the best coats I had ever received from Orvis. I have purchased at least 25 coats from Orvis and this one is one of the best. Fits true to size and very well put together

this jacket is wonderful as a light coat but not a really cold weather one. I love how the inside liner is orange and can also be used for just hunting. it would of been better if the liner had buttons. I will probably sew some on. otherwise the coat is going to make a great hunting jacket and casual one on the town

Good product. Well made. Seems to be right for what I wanted. Just wish that it had side pockets.

    Summit Explorer Parka - 9/14/2014

It fits nicely with or without the liner. This garment is good for late fall and areas with mild winters. Water resistance is fine in a light to medium rain. The permanently attached hood doesn't roll up into the collar. The hood does not lay well on the garment.

    Too Big - 9/5/2014

Pros: Nice quality and good design Cons: Not true to size. I always wear M in jackets and shirts yet this jacket M size is like extra L. I was excited to order but when I received and discovered it didn't fit, I was very disappointed. I returned it.

    "Snug as a bug in a rug" !! - 4/30/2014

Having just received this jacket, I deliberately went out on a cold, windy, miserable afternoon to test it out and with the zip all the way up and the hood adjusted, I felt as "snug as a bug in a rug". It kept me very warm and dry and the only thing missing was hand-warmer pockets which are now very common in all kinds of outerwear but were conspicuous by their absence here. I'm not certain the jacket will be warm enough for the coldest winter days in Scotland but it will be good enough for most days. The jacket is a very attractive shade of olive though, if nit-picking I would say the very bright orange colour to the removable shell is jarring. Nevertheless this is an excellent jacket which I would recommend to potential purchasers. PS> I can only find one internal security pocket. If there are two, the second must be well hidden and I'd appreciate an email fro Customer Service letting me know where to find it.
