This is a great product. Very easy to tie in and gives your flies a lifelike shimmer that a natural baitfish or other aquatic life might have

Flashabou and Krystal Flash have become the standards for adding flash to one's flies, and with good reason. Flashabou is not subtle; it is a "loud" material and perfect for inclusion on flies a tyer wants to get noticed. Four out of five stars only because it is a bit pricey.

Great for Freshwater flies - 3/15/2010

I use this exclusively for certain freshwater flies I tie that I want to add a little flash to (whether across the body, or just in the tail). A large portion of my new-age woolly buggers always get 2-4 piece of flash in them to add that extra sparkle to grab the attention of nearby fish. Its got great flash and sparkle, and it's strong to hold up in all my flies (without cement added in to secure it). As for saltwater, I'd probably get the heaver crystal flash/pearl sparkle flash etc. Overall, a great product. And one group of flashabou will get your at least 100 flies (probably more).

I only have a hand full of flashabou and that is because it is to soft of a material, granted it looks good but for saltwater (unless you get s.w. flashabou) it only works well on a few patterns.saltwater flashabouis lg wide and fairly stiff, however not all flies will work with the large flash so i use the midge flash as well as the standard youll see in the picture, overall it is a great product which holds up well and adds very ,very good movementin the water ans that is very inticing to the fish, try some on your s.w. flies instead of krystall flash and youll see th drematic difference in how it moves but both materials are great for all s.w.flies and orvis even carries them both at very reasonable prices
