Very Practical -

I purchased the XL but should maybe have gotten a XXL. Still was comfortable and allowed me to focus on my shooting without having to dig for my shells. The meshed back allowed the heat to dissipate while in direct sunlight. Helped me stay comfortable while shooting in 80+ degree weather.
Best in class -

I've had numerous clay shooting vests over the years and this is the best by far. Quality materials, nicely made and obviously designed by a clay shooter who knows what is needed. In fact I owned this vest's previous model (purchased whilst on a shooting holiday in the USA) for more than 10 years and whilst it is not worn out I've outgrown it! Moreover, the Orvis Clay vest makes a change from the usual products worn by fellow shooters and I've yet to see another this side of the 'pond'. Excellent and 'unique' product.

Great product, fits perfect, very very well made. I even bought one for my son. The pockets are really sturdy and it looks great.

The mesh and fabric are very easy to move thru when shooting at most every clays station. Even with a full pocket of shells I felt no shoulder drag nor discomfort. Excellent sewing throughout.
Mesh-Backed Clays Vest -
I bought this vest about two years ago and really like it so have rated it 5 stars. I use it with my S/S collection that do not have the recoil butt pads that are on the stocks of my O/U collection. But, it is too hot in temps above 85 degrees or so regardless of the mesh backing. The most irritating thing is that while it has a pocket on the right inside to hold a recoil pad, it does not have a Velcro or any other way of closing that pocket and my recoil pad keeps falling out whenever I take off the vest. I have to remember to look for my recoil pad on the ground or buy a new one. Orvis needs to fix that with some kind of closing button or Velcro strip. For now I use duct tape.
A great Vest -

I like the vest however, the tops of the pockets should be reinforced ,perhaps with a darker fabric. After one use the tops soiled badly. I am having this done locally.

Received the vest in record time! It's comfortable. All of the lines are perfectly laid out to insure no obstruction of raising gun in competition. Would like to see a shoulder pad specifically designed for this provided as an option.
