Consistent color/finish. These are more dense than standard beads, so these provide a greater sink rate. Bead fit will on appropriately size hooks (no binding at the hook bend).
Unwelcome color change -

Previous purchases of the Orvis black tungsten beads were flat black in color, perfect for the flies that I tie. The new Orvis black tungsten beads are shiny metallic nickel/black and not what I want to use on my flies. If I wanted a shiny bead, I would use gold or silver beads.
Heavy beads -

80% of my nymphs are equipped with tungsten beads to ensure they get right to the bottom. These beads do just that
poor advice -
I called and asked for a bead that would fit on a #12 scud hook. They fit over the barb, but would not slide around the bend. Makes them worthless to me.

One of the best out there. Wish they were a bit cheaper but they get the job done!!

Great for faster and deeper water. Prefer it to split shot which often slides on the tipped when casting
Eazy peezy beads for flyz -

This is a great selection and the little box is easy to access whatever size I need. Really like the dark color for the bottom grubbing nymphs I usually tie. Good package and a great price. ~ ZM

Tungsten beads are the way to go, more bang for the buck. These seem to be well made and have a nice finish.

beads were of good quality and uniform in size. Good finish also, would buy again.

The assortment saves the headache of picking various sizes. This is particular advantageous of inclusion in a travel fly tying kit.
