Lovely coat but I ordered small for my mini schnauzer who is exactly 20lbs and it is way too small. Make sure you measure the dog's back length.

Crazy Sizing -

I purchased both the Barbour Waxed and the Barbour Quilted in size L. The Waxed was slightly small and the Quilted was huge. The Waxed came in packaging similar to the human Barbour coat-- included the royal warrant and assorted trappings. The Quilted did not. While this distinction is admittedly cosmetic, I would say that the waxed did appear to be a bit better quality (although the quilted was reasonable). WRT sizing-- I have two English Setters (field, not bench)-- the male, a young adult (so still very trim/thin), weighs about 45lbs. The female weighs about 40lbs. The Waxed L was perfect for the female; and slightly short on the male (ends about 2" above his tail-- so slightly 'shorter' than on the model). On the male, the Quilted L was akin to a horse blanket-- the tightest belly-strap loop was roomy enough for 2 dogs. Exchange in process. We'll see.

After 22 years of having a Barbiur jacket I have recently replaced this with another Barbour, this time I thought I'd treat Jessie out terrier to a new coat too. Not as a statement of fashion, it was for practical keeping the dog dry. It's not pleasant for the dog going out in the morning and them sap taking wet in the bed when arriving home, or in the car on the way home after a wet walk. It only protects the top of the dog and the belly gets wet, but this will be much better than a sodden dog transferring all the wet to the bed and that damp s,ell that follows. It won't be used all the time, but if it's raining you will be sure to find us both walking with our new Barbours. A very good buy.

This dog jacket is of the same quality as my Beaufort. Small size fits my miniature schnauzer perfectly, however, the strap could be a bit longer. Also, an attachable hood and harness D-ring hole would be nice. Regardless, I think it's worth the price since my dog and I love it.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our boxer! We exchanged the XL for the L because it was slightly long for him. He does not like getting his back wet, but loves to run in the snow. This jacket will keep him warm and dry this winter. We are especially excited for him to match with the rest of the family's Barbour jackets!
Nice looking coat, but. . . -

This is certainly a nice looking coat, and it does keep my dog Quinn dry. However, it is poorly sized. Using the sizing chart, I ordered an exta-large. Quinn is an 85-pound Golden Retriever, standard in every way. unfortunately, this coat ends about 3-4 inches before his tail, leaving that area and his haunches uncovered and consequently wet in the rain. Additionally, even when worn tightly, it tends to slip to the left side, requiring constant pulling to get it recentered. It could have been better.
