Field Cuff KHP Marsh Trousers

Duck hunting and upland bird hunting trousers.

To describe the genius of these trousers, you have to start at the cuff, an area overlooked in the design of most upland and duck-hunting trousers. The rack-on-rib knit wool cuff snugs to your hunting boot top—keeping out the cold—or to your ankle, which makes sliding into high rubber boots or waders easier. KHP canvas is a field-tested briar trouser material. We sourced this 13-oz. cotton fabric from the original manufacturer of a pair of briar trousers worn by three generations of our chairman's family. The fabric is heavily washed to tighten the gridlike weave and to soften the trousers. Lined at the seat and thigh with a moisture-repellent cotton poplin. Internal suspender buttons. Cotton web with leather tab suspenders sold separately. Trousers feature deep 11" front pockets and rear button-close flap pocket. Upland hunting trousers in field khaki. 100% cotton. Washable.

These harken back to the old days. Well thought out design, and excellent quality. I had a pair made by Duxbacks years ago, and been waiting for someone to come out with these again.

    Great Pants - 12/30/2013
    By: from Northwoods, Minnesota

These are a great pair of pants. I have gotten a great deal of use out of them: duck hunting, pheasant hunting, fly fishing, cross-country skiing; you name it, they work great. I generally wear a 38 waist, but ended up with 40 - they fit better. Also, I usually have a 34/36 inseam, but the 31/33 inseam has worked fine.

These are so traditional they almost qualify as a throw-back, and I wish there were more products like them out there. Great material--thick, strong and very wear resistant. They will work equally well in a goose blind or in an upland field or covert. Fit is good, finish is excellent.

Best field pants made - 11/5/2013

These pants are so good I ordered a second pair. They fit into high rubber boots or waders without restriction and are canvas tuff and water resistant.

    Disappointed - 8/6/2013
By: from Western Minnesota Pheasant Country

On the positive side, the pants were well made, great material, stitching , buttonholes, etc. On the negative side, the fit was very unusual huge seat and the crouch was down to my knees. I am 6ft tall and 180 lbs. and a pretty standard fit. There was no way that I could make theses pants work, ORVIS took them back no questions asked and even credited the shipping charges.

Great pants for hip boots. - 2/2/2013
    By: from Back Bay, VA

I liked these so much that I bought a second pair. Perfect for inside waders or hip boots. Would recommend waxing or using gore-tex on the seat bottom to make it water-resistant when sitting in boat or duck blind before shooting time.

    disappointed - 1/14/2013
    By: from Florida

This is my second pair with the same problem, the buttons are poorly sewn on. I just goose hunted in Texas for 3 days and 4 buttons came off a brand new pair never been worn before. I had to wear a belt aafter the first day. Same problem I had with first pair. Everything else is great about them - they fit well, true to size, elastic cuffs are great with waders and the material wears well. For the money these cost the sewing should be bettter.

    Great Anti-brush Pants - 1/9/2013
    By: from Southfield, MI

I had purchased a pair of these with the suspenders to wear for Duck and Pheasant hunting. I finally wore them for a recent early January Pheasant hunt. I am 6'-3" and 230 lbs and they fit a little snug, but that might ease up when they get broken in. Kept me warm for a half day european hunt with afternoon walk up with just a pair of midweight thermal underware underneath. I think a heavy pair of longjohns would be too tight. We pushed thru some very heavy brush on the walk up and they did not snag, and a few times I had to kneel down in the snow to to pick up a bird or dropped shell and the snow just brushed off with out making the fabric wet.
