Great rod !! -
In the last 3 years I have been fishing with 8" Clearwater 2 sections. The change to this model has been incredible: much more accuracy, power and sensitivity. An excellent relation price benefit.
performance aint all that expen. -
rod is a joy to fish even if there not biting. the hole access set up performs and feels as good as a rig that cost $$$ more!

I bought this rod because my previouis Orvis 6 wt was a 2 piece, which was a bit difficult to travel with. I also have owned an Access 5 wt for over a year, so I knew the quality and value would be great for the 4 piece 6 wt Access rod, and I was right. The tip flex Access rods are world class in my view.

Bought this rod last year for bigger waters around Colorado. I could work the water all day with this thing no problem. I started getting in to warmwater fishing with it this year too. Very good rod for the money. I can't wait to put a decent fly line on it now.
Excellent Rod -
Rod is very well made and lightweight. Could cast it all day long.
Great Rod! -
Picked this rod up last spring. This is my first tip-flex rod and I have really enjoyed fishing it. The rod is beautiful, the color puts some off, but it has grown on me over the last year. The casting, and feel of this rod is great. If you are looking for a fast action rod that will allow you to fish for trout, bass, and steelies, this is a good compromise to for a "one-rod quiver". Pick one up, you won't be disappointed.
really nice rod -

I was looking for a mid priced fast 6wt rod. Jason at my local Orvis store told me they(Orvis) had a new model coming out. When they arrived , he put a reel on one and we went out side to try it out. After my 3rd cast I was sold. I bought the rod, drove home, gabbed a Ross Cimarron I had , drove back, had them spool it up with Wonderline(good line by the way) and went out to do a little casting. I am relativly new to fly fishing. Me and a couple of buddies got into it a couple of years ago when we retired and I consider myself a mediocre caster, but I do believe this combo really helped me improve. The 3rd week of May we went up to nothern WI. to do a little fishing. The water was high and fast and it was pretty windy the first few day's. My Access rod threw everything from no.16 Hendricksons to #8 stonefly nymph's in a pretty stiff cross wind. It also handled a fat,19 inch rainbow in really fast water with no problem. I really like this rod and am thinking about getting one in a 4wt. for fishing the "Driftless" later this yr. The only reason I didn't give this a 5star was the male ferrules seem to be longer then need be and while I think it detracts from it's overall look's, it sure does'nt detract from it's perfoemance.
Access 906 Tip-flex, 4-piece -
Quite a pleasure to cast. Purchased it as a riverbass rod to pitch up to sz 2 hair bugs, clousers, LEWBs,etc.. I've already had it out a few times and it doesn't disappoint. If I could change two things about the rod it would be: 1. A more substantial reel seat. While I'm sure the one used was selected for its light weight it looks like it could bend very easiy. Perhaps not though. 2. I don't like the brown color of the rod. Wraps and guides look fine but I just don't like a brown rod. However, the woven graphite reel seat insert is beautiful. I'll learn to live with the brown blank. Overall: I was looking for a lightweight but powerful rod and this is it. And best yet, at a reasonable price. Let me also add that the folks at the Atlanta Buckhead shop were very helpful in getting this rod to me. The service was topnotch, as always! Jim
my first quality rod -

I have been fly fishing for about 10 years and have always purchased rods between $50-100 from large outdoor retailers. My home waters are the roaring fork and frying pan in colorado. This is my first rod of any real quality and i couldn't be happier especially at such a reasonable price. The improvement in casting and mending compared to my previous gear is extraordinary. The compact size fits perfectly into my weekend pack for back-country outings and the rod sections pack quickly into the separate compartments. I've paired it with the battenkill bar stock reel with both floating and sinking spools. With an outstanding warranty, this is going to be my go-to trout rod for the next 25 years.
