When you need to hit that foam line just out of reach, and make that impossible drift seem less daunting, pick up the rod that can do both with ease. Ideal for fishing dries on large rivers and streams, the Superfine Touch 906-4 is the ultimate combination of power and finesse. With a 9-foot reach and Full-Flex action, it's the perfect rod to keep on the driftboat for those days when insane hatches leave you wide-eyed and the fish still require a soft presentation. Strong enough to cast through the wind, without sacrificing any delicacy, it will handle any fish and any cast with equal parts strength and touch. Made in Manchester, Vermont.

Just awesome -

Honestly, I hate fast rods. I never really liked them, could never get in the groove with them and have searched constantly for slower and slower rods. The superfine answers that. I liked my 4wt so much that I picked up the 6 wt. Just awesome. And the repair/return policy is simply better than anyone can reasonably expect. Little brookies to big browns, these rods protect light tippet and make for a great fight. Looking forward to the Superfine Glass for 2014! Thank you all for your fine work!

This is my first 6 wt. I couldn't be more happy with this rod. It looks great and I can cast it all day. I am looking forward to many happy years with this new fishing buddy!

Bought this rod from Orvis online on a Friday (along with a reel & slow sink line). The whole lot turned up at my door on Monday morning! Delighted with the service. I cast the rod for the first time yesterday (wed)and loved it straight away. What a machine it is, cast further than I thought it would which was a great surprise, my 3rd cast resulted in a 2.71lb rainbow trout. The fight was epic and the rod performed fantastically. Worth every penny. Well done Orvis.
Pleasant Days to Come. -

I had to pick a replacment for a broken T3 and already have a 704-4 Superfine so the choice was easy for me. So was the replacement process, Thank You Orvis! I have mostly glass and bamboo, but the broken mid-flex was a fine graphite rod while I had it. This new rod design is much more than just a slow rod. It does not feel like my other full-flex, so I was worried when i first played with it, until I got to cast it. I noticed right away that it made roll casting and mending easier for me. Lawn casting showed me that it will easily cast further than advertised if needed. Then I got to go fishing. This rod does just what Orvis says. It gave me control and accuracy, and made it easier for me. I fished with it all day, Saturday 4-14-12 and just love it. I was able to forget about the equipment and just enjoyed the fishing. Great concept and design. Thank You again Orvis.
Just what I was looking for! -

In a world where there seems to be a rod for every circumstance, it is funny that I purchased this rod for a use it really wasn't advertised for. I do a lot of nymphing in Oregon and Montana on larger rivers (Deschutes, Madison, Missouri, Bighorn) where you find yourself throwing an indicator, split shot, and weighted flies (usually into a head wind). Having the backbone of a 6-weight to makes that cast so much easier. Making the cast is only the first part. The second part is actually fighting the fish and bringing it to hand. The classic / full-flex action of this rod makes the battle that much more enjoyable. Many of my nymphing situations consists of that tail fly a size #18-22 on 6-7x tippet and the action of this rod protects that tippet. In a world of fast action rods and how far you can huck a fly gets lost in the actual fight and play of the fish. This rod with my style and philosophy of fishing makes for an enjoyable day. We are always looking for that hog of a fish and sometimes lose the enjoyment of playing and landing that 13" fish. The classic action of this rod, even in a 6-weight, makes any size fish a hoot. Cheers!
