Parent and Child Day on the River Test

Details

The ideal way for Mum or Dad to introduce their son or daughter to the sport of fly-fishing! The emphasis of this day- long session spent at our beautiful Kimbridge beat on the river Test is having fun. We teach the basics of how to set up the rod outfit ready to fish and how to tie a couple of simple but essential knots, before focussing on the basics of casting. It's then on to watercraft, fly selection and then actually getting out on the river for some practical fishing experience and hopefully catching a fish or two before the day is over. This course is most suitable for children aged between 10 and 16 years. Whilst it helps if the parent is already an experienced fly angler, this is not essential as we will teach you both all the basics you need to get started.
