I experienced all the negative comments - 1/4/2012
      By: from Texas

Harness too small and restrictive for 85 pound dog. Dog resists hooking up to it. Parts were incomplete and had to have metal loop reattached before using. Front harness loop part missing. The first time I've ever been disappointed in Orivs product. Can't really tell if it even works.

      Back-Saving Assist Harness - 8/27/2011
      By: from Denver, CO

Poorly made. After waiting for two months to receive my backordered harness for my senior dog, on my first use, three of the support belts gave way. The small patch of canvas used to secure the belt to the main harness did not hold. I am shocked that this is so poorly constructed. It is an expensive product, so you expect it to be well-made. I can't recommend this harness if they continue to allow them to be so poorly constructed.

      Not very pleased - 8/18/2011
      By: from Chicago, Il

My dog is under 50 pounds and yet the harness did not fit; it was not nearly long enough. Probably a better way to size would be by length of dog. The harness was bulky and seemed uncomfortable for the dog. Also, did not appear that it would help with support of the hind legs. For the first time with Orvis, a real miss.

      Super dog harness - 8/15/2011
      By: from Central TX

This is a quality dog harness that is not too restricting to make them uncomfortable, but with all of the padding in the right places for support and comfort. The length is long enough and the underpad is firm, but flexible for motion. I'd highly recommend this harness.

      Sizing Incorrect - 7/28/2011
      By: from New York

The quaqlity of this product is good, but the sizing is unreliable. We purchased a large for our Golden Retreiver, but the item is too small. The large will really fit a "medium" size dog.

      Why the zipper? - 7/21/2011
      By: from Portland, OR

Our limited mobility big old dog is difficult to maneuver and stubborn. While the harness seems well made and I love the wide straps, he refuses to step into it without a struggle, and zipping him into it takes too long (we are not yet ready to leave it on permanently). A similar design with quick buckles-no stepping into it, we might have overcome the zipper but not the step-would have been great. Regretfully, we are returning it.

      Worst purchase ever - 7/20/2011

We purchased this harness to assist us with pur dog that had just been diagnosed with an osteosarcoma. He was a 91 lb irish setter, and we bought the size "large". We waited 2 months for the harness, and it arrived when we really needed one. We placed the harness on the dog, and attempted to lift him and one of the straps broke right off the main support of the harness. I was so unbelievably disappointed in this product. I would not reccomend it to anyone. Our dog passed away last week, and so i can honestly say that this was a waste of money and time. Orvis did refund me immediately after i called and explained the situation. However, the harness didnt work when we needed it most.

      Too Small - 7/20/2011

This was a very substantial product but too small, even in the large size for a 130 Anatolian Shepherd. Could you make it in an extra large? Returned the product but pleased with the product.

It depends on the problem. - 5/1/2011
      By: from Canada

My 12 years old Greyhound is having difficulty while climbing stairs because he loses his strength all of a sudden while climbing stairs and his rear slips between the open space between each step causing severe wounds. I tried several harnesses that are more or less like this one and the same quality and price and the problem is that they work when the dog is on an horizontal ground not when they are on an angle. Stairs are particularly difficult because all the weight is then on the hind quarters. When the dog collapses, all the weight is put on the straps on his stomach and it hurts the animal a lot. Orvis should bring back the harness they had last year that was of real help because it had straps for the hind quarters and I love it and my dog too as he is less hesitant and scared in front of stairs.

Best value for the product - 4/20/2011
      By: from Oak Brook, IL

If you have a medium size dog, this is worth the price! If you have a LARGE dog, I would rethink it. It will not help with the back end of the dog.
