quality trouser -
By: chubbycheeks from West Sussex
These trousers are comfortable and fit well, apart from the length of the legs. I wish Orvis would give a choice of leg lengths in their trousers. We don't all have legs up to our chins, which means I always have to shorten them before I can wear them! Apart from that they are nicely made and better than can be bought on the High Street for the price.
inferior quality -
Fit is fine, length is as discribed. The dark denium pants came hemmed with white thread which looks tacky. I decided to remove it and rehem them with dark blue thread and found two holes near the hem in the fabric that were the result of weaving flaws. Will keep the pants since I removed the hem thread but will never order again.
Good looking pants but not for me. -

These pants look as though they should fit and feel great but they just don't fit me at all. The area from the top of the leg to the waist is too long and that makes the waist sit up above my waist. Just not for me.
Easy-fit Lyocell trousers -
By: Booktown from South West Scotland
Nice, comfortable material, though it creases easily. A great fit in the important places (hips and waist). The trousers are much baggier than they seem in the catalogue; should note that 'easy-fit' really means that!! Have had to take them to my dressmaker to get some of the fullness taken out. The colour is not what I'd call dark denim: I had hoped for something like navy.
|Lyocell: natural fabric meets high-tech performance|
Eco-friendly and biodegradable
No fabric available today could better display the ideals of Orvis than Lyocell. Lyocell is made of all-natural wood pulp fibers from trees grown on highly regulated farms that focus on sustainability. Not only is the material eco-friendly, but the process by which the fibers are made into fabric is, too. And when the clothing reaches the end of its useful life, it is especially kind to the environment. In fact, it is 100% biodegradable.
Moisture and temperature controlled for warm weather
The main benefit of clothing made from this unique fabric is the moisture and temperature control it offers to the wearer. Because wood pulp is naturally designed to absorb moisture for the tree’s survival, the fibers that are made into cloth do the same. The fabric pulls moisture directly from the skin and releases it into the air. Synthetic materials such as polyester do not take in moisture at all, but leave a film on the skin’s surface. And while cotton absorbs moisture, Lyocell is 1 ½ times as absorbent. While cotton and polyester can both leave moisture on the skin in humid weather, Lyocell does not, ensuring that bacteria will never get a chance to form between the fabric and the skin. This makes Lyocell a truly safe fabric for all skin types – even babies!
Durable and soft for maximum comfort
But how can a biodegradable and moisture-locking fabric not supplemented with synthetic fibers possibly withstand the trials of daily wear and tear? The secret lies in nanofibrils – microscopic hairs that branch off from the outermost fibers. In the fabricating process, the nanofibrils are manipulated to give an all-natural fabric unnatural strength. Lyocell even shows such strength while wet.
What’s more, Lyocell is an especially smooth fiber, and has softness comparable to cotton and silk. The nanofibrils can also be altered to create fabrics that feel like suede, silk, denim, or as though they had been treated for a peach-skin finish.
Furthermore, these versatile Lyocell fibers blend well with other fibers such as wool and cotton to create textiles more durable, soft, and moisture controlling than man-made fibers. Lyocell clothing provides maximum comfort – whether you’re on the go, at work, or enjoying the outdoors.
A "feel-good" stylish fabric that's good for the environment
The Orvis customer can feel good about wearing and buying Lyocell products – not only because they are naturally moisture wicking and very soft, but also because of the integrity in the source and the eco-friendly manufacturing process.
