Ideal for long leader nymphing -
By: WhiskyDavid from Cupar, Fife
Bought this on Saturday morning with the help of the Edinburgh store. By the evening I'd had my first attempt at French nymphing - three brown trout, one sea trout and a feisty little salmon parr c&r. The rod handled the leader well when casting (well, probably more like chucking given my level of experience and a couple of tungsten headed nymphs). Really sensitive feel for takes and no breakoffs with a 3lb stroft tippet. That included a near 2lb brownie in a fairly fast flowing piece of river. In short, I'm very pleased with the quality and handling of the rod. Add in the 25 year guarantee and I'm delighted! Worth every penny.

Love this rod. It has already become my go to rod for nymph and streamer fishing. Very responsive and incredibly easy to cast accurately and mending. I would highly recommend this rod..

Wanting a 10 foot four weight I looked at all the options. It is hard to get past the Orvis quality and the positive environment in the retail stores.
Think I love it -

Haven't had it on the river yet. Worked great it my back yard, very accurate and really easy to pick up the line. The reach for nyphing feels like it will be perfect on the San Juan.
Fun Fly-rod to fish -
By: Txfisher from Dallas, TX, USA
I recently purchased the Clearwater 4wt. 10ft rod after using the same rod several times with a guide. It casts acurately and is great at mending line. While not for all situations, it is a fun rod to fish with and is a great addition to your arsenal.
Superior Product -

This is the best rod I have ever purchased. I have owned a Helios, a Superfine, and a T3. This rod beats them all for the price point. The rod shoots line like a dream. For the price, you just can't beat the rod. Way to go Orvis in keeping superior rods affordable.
Wide River weapon -
Lived up the review I had read prior to buying it. Nice tip feel, and enough butt strength to handle bigger fish. Very good quality fit and finish for a rod in this price range. Light enough to cast all day, and powerful to be a real bug launcher. Should have purchased it sooner if I had known it was going to be this good.
Keep on Purchasing -

I just bought a Clearwater 4-weight 10' Fly Rod. This is my 2nd Clearwater and I plan on buying another one soon so that both of my boys have one. The flex, weight, response are all awesome. These rods will be used for generations.
Sensitive rod -

Purchased the New Clearwater rod for European nymphing and the rod has great action to feel the fish take the nymph. Loads and casts easily. This rod is even better than my 10' Access (but I'm a mid flex guy). Landed a 20" rainbow today in fast water without a hitch! Can't beat this performance for the price!!
