When the wind whips across a South Andros flat and a school of bonefish are tailing 70 feet away, you'll need a quick, accurate, and powerful cast in order to hook anything other than the guide. The extended length of our Clearwater 967-4 rod is the ideal tool for picking up excess line on the water and delivering your fly into the feeding lane. Designed with reservoir fishing in mind, this rod works wonderfully on lakes, rivers, and flats, for everything from pike and steelhead to bones and redfish. Saltwater reel seat with cork-and-EVA foam fighting butt.

I couldn't be happier with my Clearwater rod. The action seems to suit my casting perfectly and feels very balanced and light in the hand. It looks very classy with it's green blank and you can't go wrong with the guarantee.
Love our Orvis rods -

We have been Orvis rod users for years now and decided we needed to get 7 wt rods for larger trout, steelhead and saltwater fishing. We ordered online, which was an easy process and our rods were delivered very quickly, just in time for our trip. I love the way the rod casts, the dark green color is beautiful and I know the guarantee can't be beat. Highly recommend.

I fished the Henrys Fork last weekend with this new outfit ( the Clearwater rod outfit) . Throwing large golden stone patterns in the wind. It performed as well as many high dollar outfits that I have fished with. I was impressed with the light yet powerful feel to this rod.

I'm a traditionalist and enjoy the feel of a good bamboo rod. However, worrying about breaking one of my vintage rods on a big steelhead, compelled me to start searching for a rod with modern technology. With much deliberation, searching and inquiring, I settled on the Orvis Clearwater rod. Steelhead being the primary target, I needed a rod that could hold up to the challenge of winter steelhead fishing. So far after a couple of trips to central Oregon's Dechutes river and eastern Oregon's John Day river, I have been pleased with this rod. It casted with ease and the rods light weight and excellent balance does not wear my arm out. A couple of things that I would like to have seen on this rod is alignment dots and made in the USA. Other then that it has been a great rod and pleasure to cast.
