Best awaders for the money, Hands Down -
By: SPTROUT from Houston, TX
I bought these waders to replace a 20 year old pair of simple Gortex waders, which had served me well. With those, I needed extra socks to ensure a good fit in the boot and wrap around velcro / neoprene gaiters. The fit is perfect, with adequate room to kneel, bend, sit in total comfort. Hiking up and down steep banks, climbing over fallen trees? No problem. Breathability is excellent as well. Construction should ensure a long life. The material is supple yet appears robust, making waking very easy. Best features have to be: 1. the neoprene booties which are warm and make getting into your boots with a nice fit a breeze; 2. the built in gaiters are excellent, 3. the included water tight pouch for your keys / phone, and 4. the convertible system which is brilliant. I settled on these after much research of all brands, and trying them on in the Orvis Woodlands TX store (Thanks , Noble!). You can spend a little less and certainly far more (2-3x more!), yet I am convinced you cannot do better. I used these on a cold and rainy five day steelheading trip to PA / Western NY and they were perfect. This purchase was the best decision for that trip I could've made. You cannot go wrong with these waders. Perfect is the only word.
Good but could be better -

I hike 20+ miles a week surveying streams in the Pacific Northwest for salmon. I put my gear through conditions I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I have owned these waders for about 2 years now. The fit is great. The material seems to be tough, even in the face of blackberries. The boot foot slipped into boots very well. Breathe ability was okay to good after a hard 3 mile hike upstream. However, the seams failed in the crotch after the second year. They could have been more durable in this area with perhaps an extra layer. These waders are now completely useless. I expected longer life from this product, granted most of you will not abuse these the way my job demands. Good product, but could be more durable where it counts. Testing out one of their jackets soon.

As I purchased these in the fall I haven't been in the water. However I have worn them in the house as a trial for fit and mobility and found them to be perfect. My wife has had a pair for two seasons and I have been very impressed and thus the reason for buying.
Love em -

I purchased these as a replacement for a competitor's brand that was falling apart. So far, Ive got about 4 hours and 3 miles on them so far. I love em. The fit is perfect. They are comfortable. They are light and breathable, but warm. The shoulder straps are wide and do not dig into your shoulders, Everything about these seems to be designed correctly and well engineered. Did I mention they were comfortable? I fish a lot of remote places, so I typically carry my 1911 sidearm in an IWB holster My last pair of waders were super uncomfortable wearing it. With these waders, the wading belt sits high enough and does not dig into the holster. Everything fits comfortably. This was a huge selling point for me. Hopefully I can report back after putting a few hundred miles on these with similar praise.
so far so good -

Quite happy with this purchase. Very comfortable fit, used them over columbus day weekend and I never felt "heavy" or awkward moving around in the water or on the boat. Not that it matters but they look pretty sharp for waders. Right price given other waders out there. All around solid buy (so far anyway).

As always, I'm impressed with the quality of Orvis products. I appreciate their awesome customer service.
Very pleased -
Bought a set this summer for fly fishing on the Gunpowder River in MD. They performed perfectly through over 15 outings in very rough hike-in terrain through heavy brush and thorns, obstacles, etc. I have used them in the lower/convertible position exclusively, which is a great feature in hot weather and low water.

These are comfortable, rugged waders with some innovative features. The convertible top has a clever design that works easily. There is small built in dry bag in the front in case you need to take your cellphone fishing (I don't!). The built in gravel guards are functional. These are cut generously, so they're good for cold weather fishing. These are excellent waders for the price.
