Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Performer Got this as a 2015 Christmas present and am very pleased. Had I known the difference a quality wading jacket makes in comfort, would have bought one many years ago. I carefully explored all the wading jackets on the market and decided on this jacket as it was the best value. This price point, in fact, was very competitive with other jackets costing several hundred dollars more! This jacket is the usual exceptional Orvis quality. Can find absolutely no fault there and in this category, is a solid 5 stars. The pockets are cavernous and can stow anything you need. Also, the fit is perfect & comfortable for a long day on the water which is saying something because I go early, stay late, and fish hard (ALL DAY!). My only criticisms are the positioning of the front pockets and hand warmer pockets. Although the position is aesthetically pleasing, I would position them lower as one has to reach too high to access them. Functionality always trumps aesthetics, at least in my mind. Positioning the pockets 3/4 to 1 inch lower would make a palpable difference. A choice of different colors such as olive or brown would be also be welcome. Aside from this, this is the perfect jacket and there is no other that can match it at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed/versatile rain jacket Bought this jacket for winter flyfishing in northeast US. Great waterproofing and breaks wind well too. Plenty of room for fleece without looking like a trashbag fit. Also style fine for doubling as an outer layer just for out and about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Watertight I bought this jacket with the intent to be water resistant and hadn't been counting on it to be so comfortable and watertight . On the river for 4 days in driving rain , water spouts from 60 mph gusts and submerging my hands in 40 degree waters to retrieve my fish . This jacket was awesome ! Kept me dry , water didn't creep up my sleeves , the hood stayed in place and the pockets were just right for storage needed . This will be my go-to jacket for years to come . Rugged , comfortable and at a great price as well !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost what I wanted I have used Solitude's fishing jacket for years and it is no longer being made. I hoped this one would also meet my needs. In general it is a nice jacket but frankly it doesn't have side hand pockets which would be very nice to have. All of the pockets are a bit awkward to get in to as well. I am satisfied with it but I do think it was a bit too expensive for what I got.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round jacket. Had this jacket for 9 months and use it whilst bass fishing here in the u.k. It's roomy so layering is no problem, totally wind and waterproof and it's had everything thrown at it, saltwater hasn't affected the Zips even though it's been submerged once or twice and the cuff adjustment stops seawater up going up your arms. Tough as well, it's survived several tumbles amongst rocks without damage (I'm always tripping). Well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait to really put it through the ringer. Haven't had a chance to trial it yet, but winter steelheading should work. Fit is great, pockets well placed and easy zipper. Hood will accommodate a warm hat,and I like the thin fly patch. Makes it easier to have and change flies without having to dig for them.
