An worthwhile addition -

I used the jacket in thirty degree wet weather. It provide a warm water resistant extra layer. The pockets were used for flies, gloves, and other fly fishing items. I am looking forward to using the jacket in the spring and summer.

Lucky for me this jacket arrived the morning I was departing for my annual January FF trip to the San Juan River in NM. Southwest CO & Northern NM are known for big snow and driving blizzards this time of year. But, also many nice sunny days. I like to float the river and I wore my new Orvis Clearwater Jacket the first day out. I immediately noticed the snug fitting cuffs around my wrists. I was glad for them because if the fishing is good you are reaching into icy water several times a day and it is quite jarring to have ice water running inside your jacket sleeve. The morning started out sunny and cold with no wind..but as expected that didn't last long. A dense dark cloud bank soon moved up river and the snow started to fly as the wind blasted the river basin. I put the hood up on my Orvis CW jacket, zipped the collar and began to row - down river ! The high collar on the CW is nice but a little fleece lining would make it great. Thankfully the hood pulls were easy to cinch with cold hands. I soon lost sight of the river bank due to the severity of the storm as it attempted to blow me back up river. I rowed for two hours down river through the blizzard to my camp below. The Orvis CW jacket never failed me and kept me absolutely dry and comfortable despite the extream conditions. I would recommend this jacket.

I believe my title explains how I feel about this jacket. It's roomy enough to add layers underneath as and when required. The fleece lined pockets are perfectly positioned and the pockets have enough room for spare fly boxes etc. I love how the hood can be adjusted to fit nicely over your head and not get in the way on a windy day. Great product Orvis.

Excellent, breathable jacket that hit the perfect price point. Extraordinarily waterproof and cut roomy enough to layer appropriately in the most challenging of conditions. This jacket is a winner on and off the water.
Super wading jacket -

Warm, comfy, and waterproof. Perfect. Only 4 stars because I'm not a bellows pocket fan, but... I do like the fleece pocket lining and that they're up high. I'm a woman, this jacket is unisex. Does fine. I ordered a small based on size chart but sent it back for extra small. Extra small fits perfect. Im on the water 300+ days a year, need serious gear. This and the women's silver sonic waders fit my requirements perfectly. I like the value. I got the waders and jacket both for about what I'd pay for a new pair of goretex waders from simms. Had 3 pair of their waders and a jacket. All leaked and wore out in abouta year on the waders. Still have their goretex jacket. I'm excited to see how Orvis product lasts but already can say fits great, watertight, and looks good.

Though my husband hasn't actually worn the jacket to fish in yet, he's tried it on and declared it a winner. He was very happy to know he's getting it for Christmas this year!
Serious wading gear -

For years i been looking for the ultimate wading jacket. I found it at Orvis for almost the half the price of the Simms gear! Very light, flexible, perfectly water resistant, and a deep navy blue that will stand the elements and stay as new as now. I got one, now it´s your chance!
Great, comfortable jacket -
Well Ive been out in my new gear quite a bit but finally had the cold soaking rainy day. We had everything from misty conditions to heavy showers all day and I was dry as a bone all day. The hand warmer pockets worked great and within a minute or so my chilly hands were toasty warm again. Great storage pockets and the cuffs kept the water from getting anything past my wrists wet. All in all a great fishing jacket.
Workhorse Fishing Coat -

I wanted a jacket that was simple, affordable and would keep me dry fishing the fall Rhode Island striped bass migration from both boat and surf. The Clearwater Wading Jacket has been awesome. I love the 2 deep pockets, they hold rubber artificials nicely. The front zip pocket is just right for extra leader and swivels. Adjustable velcro wriststraps work perfectly keeping water out. Hood is comfortable and fits over a cap with ease. The material repels all moisture even hit by waves head on to the point where my cell phone was totally dry when stored in the inside zip pocket. I shopped around carefully before I went with the Orvis jacket and I know after already putting it to the test in some harsh New England surf conditions that I really picked the winner!
