Bed is nice, but foam tube covers fell apart -
By: LeslieS from Los Angeles, CA
This is the second futon bed from Orvis I've owned. First one was great. This one: the gauze covering used for the removable 3 foam tubes fell apart the first time I touched them to remove them to wash the dog bed cover...foam was EVERYWHERE. The foam tube coverings on the first bed were nice zippered cloth pouches: the foam coverings on this bed are cheap gauze mesh. No way to remove the foam tubes to wash the bed cover without the tube covers instantly falling apart and foam spilling everywhere. Customer service is replacing the tubes for me...we will see how the replacement tubes work out. Very disappointed.
Satisfied with the beds -

I orderd two beds for my bullmastiff and presa canario all the way from Sweden. And Im pleased with the beds, the dogs likes to sleep in them and because of my bullmastiffs bad hips I wanted memory foam that would give more support. I will try the deep dish beds aswell.
The Dog Won't Stay Off It! -

I recently bought this for the dog at my residence. This is a solid dog bed and the price is great. My aging dog needs the excellent support it provides. The only problem is that she loves it too much. She spends all her free time on it. That's a very welcome problem to have. It's a great product to have.
Sizing is all wrong -
By: MabelDoodle from UK
I write this as someone who had 100% faith in buying a bed unseen as it was an Orvis bed. The one we already have (round bolster), well I wish I could have given it more than 5 stars when i reviewed it ages back. This one is another story and for one main reason; the sizing is all wrong. Mabel weights 51 lbs. She varies by a few ounces every now and again but she is a solid 51lbs. That puts her almost smack in the middle of the weight class for the MEDIUM dog bed. She is also not a big dog by any stretch of the imagination, think very small Labrador. That is why I am extremely disappointed to see Mabel doesn't actually fit on the bed comfortably. She has no chance of lying out. She very kindly scrunched on the bed for me to get a picture before she duly rolled off. As you can see there is no hope for her to get comfortable on a bed that size. The medium is also sold as being 24" across. The one I received most certainly is not. The picture attached is the closest I could get so you can see the start and end of the tape measure. She would easily have needed the next size up, if not the one after that. I don't know if you meant it is a 24" if you flatten out the cover and take the middle out, rather than 24 usable inches but if that is the case it's not fair to sell is as 24" usable inches. The most disappointing part is she actually really likes the bed. She has been trying in vain to fit onto it and get comfy. It is soft , but not overly so,and the colour is true to what you see online. It also looks very well made. If you are lucky to have one that you know for sure will fit your dog you needn't worry about it falling apart. It looks very solid, which makes my disappointment even more. I am now stuck with an unusable bed, one I cannot return due to mobility issues. I also don't have money to be throwing around and this was an investment to last her for years as the last one has done. I'll donate it to the local rescue, for their small dogs of course.
Well Worth It -

I was very skeptical about spending this much for a dog bed especially without being able to check it out in person. This was the best investment I've made for my dog. It just arrived today and right out of the box, I can not get him off of it. Haven't even gotten the tags off yet. The quality is definitely worthy of the price and it is firm without being uncomfortable. It is more comfortable than my actual memory foam mattress. I purchased the Large for my 70 pound hound mix and it fits perfectly.
