Had To Go Back -
The skirt was just what I wanted but the fit was off. The waist was good, but it was tight at tummy and hips. A large (I ordered medium) would have been too loose at the waist.
Please bring them back! -
This skirt is my uniform, and I haven't found a substitute now that Orvis has discontinued them. I recall paying a premium for this and the other vintage denim skirts. Were they really not profitable to produce? They are sturdy material with generous pockets.
Flattering except for chunky waistband -

Bought this skirt to accommodate some weight gain and wanted something forgiving. This skirt is almost perfect - very slimming and flattering - but chunky elasticated waistband is only drawback.
Bring it back! -

I love this skirt...it is slimming, pull-on, side pockets and doesn't require a half slip. I have one in every color except the dark denim and just recently ordered 'another' grey as my other one was worn so often, it was getting a little faded. I wished you had offered it in brown. The skirts can be dressed up or down. Please bring it back in more colors.
I agree with Linda Scarf's review!!! -
By: IagreewithErgen from Florida
I have purchased many of these skirts over the years, but not recently. Linda Scarf is ABSOLUTELY correct about the fabric skimping!!! Please go back to the original pattern. Each time you change suppliers, the quality changes. At one point, you had an excellent supplier who did not skimp, and who actually paid attention to details, like lace trim on inside hem. I am going to try one more time. Like Linda Scarf, I have some of the older versions. If the ones I order are skimpy, I will have a dressmaker use my old skirt for a pattern, and whip off a bunch of them! One more thing...there are gobs of tight-fitting denim skirts out there. That is not what I want! This works as a wonderful everyday skirt when properly made.
Please bring this skirt back -
I buy several every year and it is my favorite skirt. Love the fit and style.
nice fit -
I like the comfort of this pull on skirt and the fabric is great for summer.
Very Disappointing -
By: kkrause from Los Angeles
I purchased this skirt in black and gray. I'm happy with the gray skirt, but the black skirt has been treated with some kind of chemical that has a strong, noxious odor that's still present even after being laundered twice. As a result, I can't wear this skirt, which makes it a wasted purchase.
I prefer the skirts of YEARS ago! -
By: LIndaScarf from Newport News VA
Your new denim skirts have slowly but surely SKIMPED on fabric. So, the other day I decided to prove it...the skirt I am wearing now, purchased many years ago has at least 10 more inches of fabric in the width at the hem line than the same skirt I just purchased! This older one is a nicer skirt and IS much more flattering than the new ones!! I even re-dyed it back to the original dark denim color~~~ Please think seriously about getting the older skirts back in stock. Oh, and let's see MORE skirts, pants and shorts AT THE WAIST....they are MUCH more feminine than ones that only come to the hip level!!! All in all I am NO longer happy with Orvis!
My "Forever" skirt -
By: Betna from Baltimore, MD
This blue Jean A-line skirt has an expandable waistline. I am 77 years old, and wanted something practical that would allow for a little bit of weight gain and a larger waistline. It is therefore my "Forever" skirt. It fits well and has nice deep pockets on either side. I wear it proudly and advertise its "forever" feature to all my friends, who are also "getting on." Betna
