Excellent jacket -
By: DanG50 from Wales
The jacket looks good, fits very well and is warm in cold weather without being bulky. It's practical and sturdy enough for dog walking but smart enough for casual wear.
Good Coat -

I am happy because I bought this coat in a sale at a heavily dicounted price.I would not be so happy if I had paid the full amount. It's light, making it good for unreliable UK summers, which is what I wanted it for. Not sure it would be any use as a winter coat. It's very well made quality garment. The waxed material, which isn't waxy, holds creases so you have to use a coat hanger to keep it smart. Its a 'large' but feels like a medium but wife says it looks good.
Interesting but Flawed -
By: HankofRI from Providence RI
To begin with: the material is excellent: waxed cotton of a well bonded consistency unlike any other I have tried on. The workmanship is also quite good. It's the design of the garment that doesn't make sense. First, it's quite heavy: is it a rain jacket or a fall and spring jacket? Second when you zip in the additional (and wonderfully soft) fleece vest liner, it doesn't latch in the neck area, making it a challenge to put on. Third, the sleeves are short and I'm not a tall guy. Fourth, there is lots of extra room in the gut area: and I'm not a thin man. Finally though there are many pockets they don't make sense, at least for what I need a jacket to do. The internal chest pocket is too narrow for a glasses case. The other internal pockets are huge. Disappointed in the end.
Sandanona Wax Cloth Jacket -

If you are expecting a waxed cotton coat similar to Barbour, Partridge, or Lewis you will be very disappointed. Not at all comparable. Guess you get what you pay for. Might be an ok coat, if you like GI green and noisy
Great Coat at Great Price! -
By: hjmck from Pittsburgh, PA
I was looking for a less expensive alternative to a Barbour coat. I love Barbours and own two, but they are expensive. The Sandanona Wax Cloth Jacket fit the bill perfectly. It is the perfect weight for all but the coldest days, and can be outfitted with the zip in vest to add warmth if desired. Orvis does it again!
Coat looks great, but sleeves run short (and I am not "lanky")---also, I have had trouble getting the zipper to "engage"---often takes several tries to get it to work---doesn't seem like typical Orvis quality
Great Jacket -

I purchased this jacket on sale and it's a great purchase. I also ordered the Heritage Field Coat which is great! This jacket feels a little lighter weight, which is what I wanted...it will be nice when the weather is not cold enough to warrant the heavier Heritage. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because, to me, the material has more of a "microfiber" feel instead of a "waxed" feel...that may just be me (?) It is an awesome jacket though! I'm average build...5'11" and 175 lb, and a size M fits just right.

Meets a need -
This jacket filled a hole in my wardrobe in that it provides protection and warmth for those chilly, breezy, damp fall days that I encounter here in the Catskills and Hudson Valley. I expect it will serve the role well in the spring and into the future as it appears to be well made.
