Floating Braided Leader System

Our braided leaders make delicate presentations easier.

These braided nylon leaders with Bimini tippets are ideal for delicate dry-fly presentations. Superior turnover power allows for long tippet extensions. These leaders are four times as supple as solid monofilament and are impregnated with a water-repellent formula that eliminates spray over wary fish. One leader and five 5' Bimini tippets on a spool per pack. Leaders come in 7.5' and 9' lengths. Choose desired length, diameter, and finally match it up with the rod weight of your choice. Imported.
In 7.5' 3X-5X, recommended for 4- to 7-wt. line; 9' 3X-7X, choose between 3- to 5-wt. line or 6- to 7-wt. line.

A' cannot do without' piece of kit - 5/5/2015
    By: from Taunton, Somerset

A wonderful braided leader both for dry/nymph fishing. Well made and if cared for after each trip can last up to 3 seasons. It is very limp, floats well, and turns a fly/tippet over really well. I use it for mainly river fishing, but it is equally home on still waters/reservoirs. PLEASE do not stop making them, they are my lifeline to a good days fishing.

Quality leader; overpriced package - 5/4/2015
    By: from Western NC

The Orvis braided leaders have always been my favorite. They last long, and my casting is not as consistently accurate with other leaders. The packaging with bimini tippets on a spool is a racket that drives the price of these up. I would be more enthusiastic if I could buy what I need for less and leave the pricey tippets behind.

    Very Nice Product - 5/1/2015

Turns over well, easy pick up and almost invisible in water. No knot system is especially nice when working with beginners.

I'm not used to the braided stuff, nor this kind of setup, but it works great regardless.

There are a lot of people making furled leaders the ones from orvis last several seasons.. Use one of these and start catching fish.

Nice leaders but better without tippets - 12/22/2014
    By: from Fort Collins, CO

I really like these braided leaders. I've used them for many years. However, I'm not a big fan of the bimini tippets. I'd rather just tie some regular tippet material to the end of the leader. Orvis has recently decided to add more bimini tippets to the package. I would rather have them taken out completely so that I can choose to only pay for the leaders without paying for the tippet material.

    Memory-free & Long-lasting leader - 12/17/2014
    By: from Arkansas

I have been using Orvis floating braided leaders for several years and I wouldn't use anything else. Instead of replacing my leader after a few outings, this leader lasts for a season. My only complaint is that they do not come in longer lengths.

Great Leader and Tippet for Dries - 11/29/2014

I have used braided leaders and bimini tippets exclusively for dries, since Orvis introduced the system a couple of years ago. This is a great product that improves my presentation. The braided section is durable and changing between tippet sizes is easy with the loop-to-loop connections.
