Just days to go until the inaugural Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival and I can’t wait! Storm Francis may be cracking his cheeks along the south coast at the moment but thankfully the Festival Weather Gods have promised light winds and spells of warm sunshine for the running of the festival.
HOW TO PREPARE & WHAT TO PACK
I’m sure that all those that are participating the fly fishing competition will be busy tying flies, oiling reels, packing kit and avidly studying the comprehensive “Guidance Notes And Suggested Marks” document recently emailed to entrants in the coming days, while desperately trying not to forget that vital piece of equipment or killer fly which could make all the difference on the day. It is not easy to remember everything to pack for a fishing festival so preparing a list to tick off can be a great help. Don’t forget that the Festival Guides are also here to help and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns leading up to the fly fishing competition.
ORVIS UK FACEBOOK PAGE: ANSWERS & ADVICE
Alternatively, take a look at the Facebook Live that Andy Ford and I did on the Orvis UK Facebook page last week. Andy and I covered subjects like the Festival itself, what to pack for a fishing festival, mullet fishing in general, and the recent episode of ‘On The Bank’ which was dedicated to fly fishing for mullet. For those of you who managed to catch the programme, I hope you enjoyed watching and that it provided inspiration for the upcoming Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival.
