The Catch Series: Catch a Mullet

Saltwater fly fishing is without a doubt one of the fastest growing genres of angling. Your host for the day, Joe Walker has been an avid saltwater fly angler for almost 20 years and has written extensively on the subject. Joe is also a speaker and guide at our Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival and Beginner's Saltwater Weekend. This guided day aims to provide novice saltwater fly fishers with an opportunity to learn and experience the skills and tactics used to target mullet in British coastal waters.

Often referred to as ‘the British Bonefish’, Mullet are an enigmatic and challenging species. Joe aims to give those new to this pursuit a sound understanding of the tactics, habitats and behaviour of the ‘grey ghost’ – all essential to unlocking success with this otherwise aloof fish.

Although it is not essential to have attended the Beginner's Saltwater Weekend held in June, this guided day is great natural progression, while also ideal for anyone with freshwater experience aiming to turn their attention to 'the salt'.
