The Catch Series: Match the Hatch - Hampshire
The Catch Series: Match the Hatch
Ever wondered how experts match the hatch during the fishing day? Join Orvis fly-fishing guide, entomologist and master fly-tyer, Mark Roberts, to discover the observational cues and fly selection tips to really understand this crucial and fascinating aspect of fly fishing for yourself.
Mark will take you on a journey of exploration. Discover the world of sub-surface insects, the brief yet eventful lives of fully formed adults and everything in between. On the river you will learn how to quickly identify the food that the fish are eating and match them from your fly box, using simple sampling techniques.
Participants will also have an opportunity to tie a fly [no tying experience necessary!] and use it to tempt a fish or two!
Previous fishing experience is an advantage as this day is a guided day and not a casting tuition day. Kit list will be provided to you upon booking.
Location: River Itchen, Abbots Worthy, Hampshire
