Our popular range of fun, simple fly fishing classes are a wonderful way to discover this inspirational and adventurous sport. These engaging sessions cover all the fundamentals, including habitat, equipment, essential knots, fly selection and casting. We have everyone covered - family groups, complete beginners or anyone returning to fly fishing after a break. Plus, for those keen to concentrate on a specific style or species of fish, keep an eye out for our specialist classes or enquire in store.
Classes are available year-round in our flagship Stockbridge store, and at our National events through the spring and summer.

If you're ready for the next step in your fly fishing journey, and are keen to get out on the water but need a bit of help, we have several options for you.
If you've completed our FF101 class, you are eligible to participate in our FF201 hosted excursion to a beautiful local stillwater, and the chance to catch your first fish on the fly! Just like our FF101 classes, we have sessions that run locally to our Stockbridge store in Hampshire, or national sessions which run through the spring and summer.
Our Beginners Fly Fishing Schools offer exceptional opportunities for anyone to step into the world of angling - and there’s no better place to turn for superior fly-fishing instruction than Orvis. These schools cover all the information contained in our FF101 and FF201 sessions, and more! Perfect for the complete novice in a small group setting, under the watchful eyes of our instructors.

As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect, and our improvers fly fishing schools offer a multitude of options for the novice and expert angler alike.
Whether you're wanting to fish on the River Itchen, or the River Test at Timsbury where you can enjoy exclusive use of a private, ⅓-mile beat, our one-to-one packages can be tailored to your skill set and offer more individualised attention than our FF201 sessions or Beginners Schools. For the more experienced angler, choose our Improvers Fly-Fishing Weekend School which takes place on the River Test, where you’ll learn how to extend your skills and refine your technique.
We also have schools and clinics that focus on specific areas of fly fishing. The Orvis Fly Tying School at our Stockbrudge store is a popular choice for those wanting to explore tying their own flies to take out on the water, or just to keep active in the community during those winter months.
