Orvis FF101: Discover UK Saltwater Fly Fishing for Free at Orvis Stockbridge

Back by popular demand! Our previous Discover UK Saltwater Fly Fishing session booked out so quickly we're giving it another go! This time with Orvis Saltwater Event guides, Michael Rescorle and Andy Miller, taking the helm.
This class will effectively present ideal rod outfits, terminal tackle and tactics when fly-fishing both bass and mullet from the UK shoreline. Michael and Andy will also cover essential points relating to understanding tides, safety considerations and reading basic water features. Additional time can be spent with the store team after the class to review your own personal equipment and to answer any detailed questions you may have ahead of the forthcoming season.
If you’re keen to discover some great tips and useful advice about equipment selection, lure casting and saltwater tactics, then there will be a lot to discover at this free to attend, 2-hour session. So book your place early!
Although there is no age limit, attendees should be able to independently engage in the whole session. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS, MICHAEL RESCORLE & ANDY MILLER
Michael is a Level 2 Licensed Angling Coach, and is a guide for the Orvis Beginners’ Saltwater events and the UK Saltwater Fly-Fishing Festival. He has also hosted some of our most popular The Catch Series experience days for Bass, Grayling and Trout. As an Orvis Endorsed Guide, Michael runs guided sessions for groups and individuals to introduce them to shore-based saltwater fly fishing and also guides on the river Test and Itchen. A man of precision and charm, Michael's knowledge of this sport, as well as coastal areas, is second to none.
Like many, Andy started his fly fishing career catching trout on his local still waters, but decided he wanted more of a challenge and progressed to saltwater fly fishing with a specific focus on fly fishing for bass. Andy has fished the Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing Festival every year since it started in 2020 when he finished as runner-up, and now is one of our guides for both of our Saltwater Events. Last year Andy received his Angling Trust Level 2 coaching license and is now an associate member of GAIA (Game Angling Instructors Association) working towards his GAIA Guide certificate for Saltwater Fly Fishing, which he hopes to complete later this year.
