This kit is focuses on a very special fly pattern - first devised in 1984 by Dutch angler Hans van Klinken - The Klinkhamer Special (also known as Nordischer Hammer or Klinki).
Originally called the LT Caddis (Light Tan) but was later officially named the Klinkhåmer Special. The fly was designed to imitate an emerging caddis/sedge fly, which trout and grayling hoover up from the surface film. This fly pattern is now universally acknowledged as the best and most adaptable emerger pattern ever designed. It is considered a standard for targeting trout and grayling and has been very effective for many fly anglers since its inception.
Feathersmith kits includes enough world-class materials to tie 30 flies in three sizes. Plus a video tutorial of how to tie each variation of the fly and associated videos on fishing your finished fly.
