Imagine a place where fly fishing is more than just a sport—it's a tradition, a pilgrimage, and an art form perfected over centuries. Welcome to the chalk streams of Hampshire, where modern fly fishing was born. Fly fishers from around the globe journey here to experience these globally unique water meadows, steeped in natural beauty and history. We invite you to join me for a guided day exploring these pristine waters.

Chalk streams are more than just fishing spots; they’re bustling ecosystems brimming with life. These rare habitats support an astonishing variety of plants and animals, including some of the UK’s most endangered species.

What makes a chalk stream so special? It starts with chalk itself. Highly porous and permeable, chalk allows rainwater to filter down to the bedrock, where it pools in a natural reservoir. This ‘gin-clear’ water, held below ground, resurfaces through chalk springs, flowing at a steady temperature of around 10 °C, creating ideal conditions for wildlife. The nutrient-rich water supports an incredible diversity of insects, including over twenty species of Mayfly and nearly forty species of Caddis—a fly-fisher’s dream! This abundance makes it the perfect setting for dry fly fishing.

We offer guided days almost year-round, transitioning from trout in the warmer months to grayling and pike as the temperature drops.

Join us for an unforgettable journey to some of the most enchanting and ecologically significant streams in the world, and experience the magic of fly fishing in its birthplace!
