Today, as we celebrate World Wildlife Day, we reflect on the efforts dedicated to preserving the natural habitats that sustain our planet's biodiversity and ultimately our pastime of fly fishing. At Orvis UK, our passion for the outdoors is matched by our commitment to conservation. We actively support several initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring our waterways across the UK, as well as fostering the next generation of anglers.
Anglers Against Pollution
The Angling Trust's Anglers Against Pollution campaign empowers anglers and the broader community to advocate for unpolluted rivers, lakes, and coastal waters. Orvis UK has been a loyal supporter of this initiative, contributing a portion of sales to fund efforts that hold polluters accountable and promote water quality monitoring. In partnership with the Angling Trust, the Water Quality Monitoring Network, a citizen science project enlisting volunteers to collect data on river health, provides valuable insights that inform strategies to combat pollution and protect aquatic life.

The Mayfly Project UK
Connecting young people with nature promotes a lifelong appreciation for the environment. The Mayfly Project UK mentor’s children in foster care through the art of fly fishing, offering them a therapeutic outlet and a deeper understanding of our environment. At Orvis UK, we’re passionate about this cause and support the project to help nurture the next generation of anglers.

The UK River Summit & Festival
Collaboration and dialogue are key to driving environmental change. The UK River Summit & Festival serves as a platform for environmental leaders, policymakers, scientists, and community members to discuss and develop solutions for the challenges facing the UK’s rivers. We are proud to be hosting the ticket sales for the UK River Summit for a second year to support the small but determined River Summit & Festival Team, allowing them to concentrate on delivering an incredible event.

Supporting Fish Legal
Legal advocacy is a powerful tool in the fight for cleaner waters and environmental justice. Orvis UK proudly supports Fish Legal, an organization dedicated to taking legal action against polluters and defending the rights of anglers and conservationists. We help amplify Fish Legal’s impact by spreading awareness of its landmark cases, hosting fundraising events, and offering our Activist Angler Caps, with 100% of proceeds donated to support Fish Legal’s critical work. By standing together, we can hold polluters accountable and protect the UK’s waterways for future generations.

Our 5% for Nature Commitment
Conservation is woven into the fabric of Orvis's identity. Since the 1980s, we've pledged 5% of our pre-tax profits to conservation efforts worldwide. This commitment has resulted in donations to hundreds of organisations all over the world dedicated to habitat protection, sustainable practices and encouraging the next generation's connection to nature.
On World Wildlife Day, we invite you to join us in supporting these vital initiatives. Together, we can make a tangible difference in preserving the natural world for generations to come.
