Beginners One Day Fly-Fishing School

This one day beginner fly fishing instruction programme is aimed at the complete novice. All the basics are covered including safety, tackle selection, casting, fly selection and playing and landing a fish. This course is held on our Kimbridge beat on the River Test, situated 10-15 minutes from Stockbridge and Andover.

We will cover:

  • Fly casting techniques
  • How to play, land and safely release fish
  • How to read the water and currents
  • How to choose your tackle
  • Stream entomology & selecting the right fly
  • Essential knots

Casting Practice – Start to master casting a fly line, with tuition from your expert instructor

Fishing Demonstration by Instructor - Casting, catching, playing and landing the fish

Fishing Session – Time to fish! Put what you've learned into practice.

Round-up - Weigh-in and record your catch. Optional - advice on preparing the fish, and cooking suggestions

Any time of the season can be good.

No, but we will be delighted to advise on accommodation locally.

How many people will be attending?

A maximum of 8 with two qualified instructors.

What is the cancellation policy?

30 days notice is required to ensure that your deposit it refunded. However, late cancellations are taken on their merit.
